So, You Want to Feel Lighter? Try This.

"It's finally my turn to unleash my inner howl!" - Winnie Mae #PawtoPen

If you were a dog, you could hold a single thought for 27 seconds. Humans? Maybe 10. So I’m going to honor your limitations (and your opposable thumbs) by getting straight to the point.

If you want to feel lighter, reconnect with your inner voice.

How?

By moving the pen and trusting what the ink reveals.

It’s as simple as that?

Almost. Most people need a guide, and that’s where I come in.

Sure, you can try it on your own—that’s why I wrote this article for Maria Shriver’s Sunday Paper a year ago, outlining the steps of the Authentic Voice process. But you don’t have to go at it alone…

Being direct like this makes me uncomfortable. To understand why, I had to Write the Worst Junk in All the World.

By WJAW-ing it out, I realized I have a deeply rooted fear of sounding salesy.

The problem is all mine: You asked for an online offering so you wouldn’t have to travel to Los Angeles to learn the Authentic Voice method. I listened. And I’m so excited for you to have this opportunity. Nothing salesy about that.

Join us.

Set yourself up with intention, still your mind, write what needs to be written, highlight the heightened feelings, and begin again.

Understand your past more fully, experience your present more intentionally, and realize your future more clearly.

I’ve seen people pick up the guitar again after 30 years, finish a passion project, move to the desert, leave a career, walk a new path.

"I took the one less traveled by, / And that has made all the difference."  Robert Frost, The Road Not Taken, 1915.

I’ve seen people become happier, lighter, freer—cultivate joy while honoring that this human stuff is hard. And gorgeous.

And you are not alone.

If you sense it’s time to access your inner voice—the one you spend your day tamping down, join us. Meet yourself on the page, and then in your life.

What’s the hook?

Say yes to something that might scare you.

Say yes to feeling lighter.

Say yes to “Mine Your Gems: The Online Experience” (and be sure to grab that Early Bird Discount).

P.S. People often ask me, “What will I do with my writing, afterward?”

1. The gifts of insight arrive from following the ink, not from something you need to do with the pages afterward.

2. The question suggests that reconnecting with your inner voice isn’t enough. But it is. And so are you.
